DiscVision presents Hybrid DVB-C receiver and mobile phone client for remote access to PVR
Anga Cable
3. - 5. May 2011
DiscVision presents for the first time the eviado one DVB-C system that is based on the successful
eviado one receiver platform.
The system integrates support for HbbTV, a large set of interactive
services accumulated
in a Web portal and the watchmi
personal TV service.
The PVR features of the STB can be remotely controlled using the connectTV technology
of DiscVision.
MAX Technologies GmbH will provide the system to the retail market.
The eviado range of products gathers a set of high featured but cost efficient
STB
and PVR solutions that cover all major reception technologies (satellite, cable and
terrestrial) as well as the Internet as a distribution path for audio and video information.
eviado STB systems are hybrid systems that allow for a seamless integration
of information
delivered via DVB or IP. The integrated HbbTV stack of allows for
a large number of new services
provided by broadcasters. In addition to this,
a web portal is integrated that provides a large number
of interactive services. The web portal is provided by NetRange MMH.
Like the satellite receiver system, the cable receiver integrates the watchmi service from
Axel Springer AG which is based on technology of APRICO, a Philips company. DiscVision
is the first company that has integrated this award winning technology in digital receiver systems.
The eviado systems are provided to the market by MAX Technologies GmbH.
The system presented on Anga can be configured using a new mobile phone application which
is based on web technologies and can therefore be used on all smartphones which allows to
schedule recordings and control the overall PVR using the DiscVision connectTV technology.
This technology not only allows to provide services for the private end user but also allows to
perform remote maintenance of the STB system done by the system vendor.
The overall solution that is presented on Anga Cable 2010 is done in close cooperation with
other technology partners such as MAX technology GmbH, GkWare, MMH Netrange GmbH, Axel Springer
Digital TV Guide GmbH, APRICO and Opera. DiscVision as a software and hardware design house has
been responsible for the integration and provision of the overall software stack of this system.
